Frisbee Park hearing, Nov. 10

The City Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, Nov. 10, 2 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, to decide on whether to approve a concept approval application to install a series of tree protection poles and netting for a Frisbee playfield at Mineral Springs Park, located at 1735 N. 107th St. The poles would range in height from 10 to 22 feet, with five poles, one scrim (netting), and part of three scrims in required yards on park property. A determination of non-significant impacts to the proposed plan was made by the Department of Parks and Recreation. The Department of Design, Construction and Land Use is recommending that the City Council approve the plan and grant the Parks Department's requested relief from development standards for the project. Ballard Library gets go-ahead

DCLU on Oct. 9 issued a declaration of non-significant impacts with conditions regarding the Seattle Public Library's proposed plans to begin construction of a new Ballard branch library at 5614 22nd Ave. NW. The building will include 15,000 square feet of library space, 3,100 square feet of office space, and parking for 85 cars in both below-grade and surface parking stalls. N. 45th St. buildings to be razed

DCLU on Oct. 13 issued a declaration of non-significant impacts with conditions regarding the Seattle Housing Authority's proposed plans to demolish two buildings totaling 17,640 square feet at 1205 and 1255 N. 45th Street. Western Tow Boat

DCLU on Oct. 9 granted a shoreline substantial development permit to Western Tow Boat Co. for the future construction of a two-story building at 601 NW 40th St. The accessory building will contain 2,816 square feet of administrative office space, 7,084 square feet of storage and 50,960 square feet of outdoor storage, as well as surface parking for 32 cars. DCLU on Oct. 9 received an application for a master-use permit to allow a single parcel at 4414 Meridian Ave. N to be subdivided into four lots for the purpose of allowing the sale or lease of the lots for future construction of townhouses. Wallingford cell tower

DCLU granted a master-use permit on Oct. 13 that allows T-Mobile USA to install a cell tower at 455 N. 44th St. that consists of three panel antennas on the roof of an existing apartment building. Phinney cell tower

DCLU on Oct. 6 approved a master-use permit that allows Cingular Wireless to install a cell tower at 5705 Phinney Ave. N that consists of six panel antennas on the rooftop of an existing apartment building. For details, call land use planner Colin Vasquez of DCLU at 684-5639.

Wallingford mixed-use

DCLU on Sept. 29 granted a master-use permit that allows for a portion of the second floor and mezzanine of a building at 2502 N. 50th St. to be changed from commercial to residential use, for a total of five residential units and one commercial space at ground level. Roosevelt signs

DCLU on Sept. 25 received an application for a master-use permit to allow the construction of two changing image signs at 6801 Roosevelt Way NE. A 33-square-foot sign would be located on Roosevelt Way and a 22-square-foot sign would be located on 8th Avenue NE. The display surfaces would face in northerly and southerly directions.
