Physical therapist opens practice

Michael Osaki has opened a new physical therapy practice in Greenwood.

The 28-year-old, who lives in Wallingford, is a Seattle native and graduated from Shorecrest High School in 1993. After attending the Physical Therapy school at the University of Washington, he worked at Highline Physical Therapy in South Seattle.

He opened Greenwood Physical Therapy in January, and now has 18 regular patients.

"I've got some great patients, and I like the area a lot as well," he said.

Osaki said his only employee thus far is his mother, Carolyn Osaki, a retired physical therapist. She helps him by answering the phone and handling insurance paperwork.

"It works out really well. I don't have to train her too much," he said.

Osaki said he has focused on treatment with elderly patients, or those suffering from post operative, work caused or chronic pain. He said he likes his patients to take an active role in their own recovery.
