Library reduces open hours

A new year means a new round service cuts at the Seattle Public Library. Doing its part to close a city-wide $60 million budget gap, the library system is reducing its hours of operation in handling its own $4.8 million budget cut.

The new hours of operation at all branch libraries is now 1-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Sunday hours remain the same.

Hours at the temporary Central Library in downtown Seattle are also reduced.
