South Wallingford rezone:
The City will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 9 a.m. at the Hearing Examiner's office regarding the Director of the Department of Construction and Land Use's recommendation to rezone a property at 3333 Wallingford Ave. N. The rezone would increase the maximum height for a new building on that site to 65 feet, up from the current limit of 45 feet. Approval of the rezone includes conditions regarding architecture and building materials, as well as limits on hours of construction and maintenance of the pedestrian path along N. 34th Street during construction. U-District Walgreen's approved:
DCLU granted a master-use permit on Jan. 6 that allows for construction of a Walgreen's pharmacy at 1205 NE 50th. The two-story building would have 14,500 square feet of retail space and would include parking for 29 cars at 4751 Brooklyn Ave. NE. Sam's Club expansion:
The Sam's Club warehouse store at 13550 Aurora Ave. N filed an application on Jan. 16 for a master-use permit to allow for construction of a 33,649-square-foot addition to the existing store and construction of a gas station with six gas pumps and three underground tanks. Meridian brewpub:
DCLU granted a master-use permit on Jan. 20 that allows the former Honey Bear Bakery building at 2106 N. 55th St. to be converted into a brewpub. Appeals of this decision must be received no later than Feb. 3. For details, call Marina Haufschild of DCLU at 233-7193.
Greenwood Library:
DCLU received a request on Jan. 16 for a Council Land Use Action to establish use for future construction of a one-story, 15,095-square-foot building at 8016 Greenwood Ave. N that would become the new home of the Greenwood Library. The project would include parking for 36 cars. The existing library building and a single-family house immediately to the south would be demolished. U-District hotel:
DCLU received an application on Jan. 16 for a master-use permit that would allow the construction of a six-story, 60,395-square-foot hotel at 4719 12th Ave. NE. Greenwood mixed-use:

Roosevelt mixed-use:
A developer submitted an application to DCLU on Jan. 9 to build three five-story residential/commercial buildings at 1026 NE 65th St. The complex would share a common ground floor, with 2,496-square-feet of commercial space at street level and 76 residential units on the upper floors.
