Healthy Living BriefsBlood drive at PNA, Jan. 6
Marcia Brunner, owner of Laser Services Unlimited on Phinney Ridge, is organizing a blood drive at the Phinney Neighborhood Association, on Monday, Jan. 6, 1-7 p.m. This drive will also be an opportunity for the public to donate an additional small sample of blood to be typed and the information added to the National Bone Marrow Registry. "If you have thought about becoming a possible bone marrow donor, this will be your chance to register and help save a life, possibly mine, as my doctor has told me I will probably need a bone marrow transplant within a few months," said Brunner. "Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center has already searched the Registry and have found only two possible matches for me. These two people have not been contacted yet to see if they are willing or able to donate marrow to me, as these two people are in the Far East." If you can come to the blood drive to donate blood and/or register for the Bone Marrow Program, please contact Brunner by e-mail (marciabee@mindspring.com) or phone 789-6841 to schedule an appointment time.
