Housing complex planned for N. 45th and Stone Way N.Housing Resources Group, a nonprofit housing development and management group, attended the Oct. 24 meeting of the Wallingford Chamber of Commerce to present its plans to build an affordable housing complex on the southwest corner of N. 45th Street and Stone Way N. The mixed-use project would include 70 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments over ground floor commercial space, a residential courtyard and play area, and underground parking. The apartments would rent for between $500 and $900 a month to individuals and families of low to moderate income. "This development will seek to anchor this corner and provide a gateway to Wallingford's commercial core," according to HRG, which is negotiating with Seattle Housing Authority to buy the site. Subway coming to WallingfordAn application for a master-use permit has been submitted to the City's Design, Construction and Land Use Department for construction of a 1,500-square-foot Subway fast-food restaurant at 3410 Stone Way N. Lake City Library expansionSeattle Public Library has applied for a master-use permit to build a two-story addition to the Lake City Library at 12501 28th Ave. NE. Talaris impact study availableCopies of a Draft Environmental Impact Statement report on the Talaris project a proposed three-story research facility at 4000 NE 41st St. are available for review at the Downtown Seattle Public Library, the University Library and at DCLU's Public Resource Center. The project calls for initial construction of a 127,230-square-foot building for the Institute of Advanced Study that would include labs, offices, an auditorium, library, child daycare and underground parking. Three buildings would be demolished. A second phase of construction would add 163,000 square feet of space at a later date. A public hearing will be held Wednesday, Dec. 11, 7 p.m. at The Center for Urban Horticulture (3501 NE 41st St.). Written comments may be submitted to DCLU through Dec. 30.
