Taste wine for Hale

The Nathan Hale High School Foundation will hold its third annual Fall Wine Tasting and Gathering on Saturday, Oct. 19, 7 p.m. at the Sand Point Country Club (8333 55th Ave. NE). The event will include hors d'oeuvres, two auctions and music from the Nathan Hale Jazz Ensemble. All proceeds will benefit the school (This year reference and literary books are a special focus). Patches to visit Lake City

Former longtime kids television show host J.P. Patches will make an in-person appearance at the Lake City Community Center, Sunday, Oct. 13, from noon to 1:30 p.m. The event is part of the Seattle Toy Show that will be held at the center that day, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The show's organizers invite the public to bring their old toys to sell, trade or display. Admission cost is $3 for teenagers and adults and $1 for kids under 12. The center is located at 12531 28th Ave. NE. For more information, call 253-272-0264.
