Walgreen's plans U-District store

Walgreen's has applied for master-use permits to build a two-story 14,500-square-foot drugstore at 1205 NE 50th St. and an accessory parking lot at 4751 Brooklyn Ave. NE. DCLU is accepting written comments through Aug. 7. For details about the project (#2201846 and #2201526), call 386-9049.

Krispy Kreme update

An application has been filed for a master-use permit to build two side-by-side fast-food restaurants at 12505 Aurora Ave. N (southeast corner of the Lowe's Home Improvement store block): Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and Jack in the Box. Church wants to expand parking

The Northgate Church, located at 12345 8th Ave. NE, has applied for a master-use permit to demolish an existing covered play area and two-story classroom building in order to expand its surface parking to accommodate 196 cars. U-District housing complex

DCLU will convene a Design Review Board meeting on Monday, Aug. 5, to discuss a developer's plan to build a six-story congregate housing complex at 4551 8th Ave. NE that would have 27 bedrooms and parking for seven cars.
