Kudos to Stan Stapp

I love Stan Stappıs columns. Iıve read them off and on for about nine years now, since I moved to Licton Springs from downtown Seattle. Today, my husband and I were looking at eBay (oh dear, Iıve just discovered eBay; such a terrible, terrible time waster!) and came across some memorabilia from the Coon Chicken Inn. We had no idea Seattle ever had such a place, much less right near us! We looked for more information on the Web and found your article on old Bothell Way (now Lake City Way) joints. Trust Stan Stapp to have written such a funny and informative article.

Iıve learned more about Seattle from you than I ever did from my junior high Washington State History class!

I also appreciate how your articles encourage people to just strike up conversations with strangers. People donıt do that nearly enough anymore; they seem afraid of one another. Iım sure youıve seen a loss of community feeling in Wedgwood over the years, but Iım glad you havenıt given up hope and that you still strive to be neighborly! I wish I had something clever to say about your writing. I guess I just wanted to let you know that whenever I read your column, it renews my faith in people a little bit, and thatıs sure something you should be proud of!
