On Friday, Dec. 7, the Bitter Lake Family Center will host its fifth annual Peace Event. The celebration, which originated with participants in ESL programs at Bitter Lake Shoreline Family Centers, is meant to promote cultural understanding.
The event will include displays of many different cultures, including Hispanic, African, Korean and Japanese. There will also be performances of music and dance from around the world, door prizes and a potluck table. Attendees are invited to bring an ethnic dish to share and to dress in traditional costumes.
The Peace Event will take place from 6-8:30 p.m. Admission is free. The Bitter Lake Family Center is located at 13035 Linden Ave N. For more information, call 368-0172.
