Hinduism class, Sept. 22

Ananda, located in at 6509 Roosevelt Way NE, will offer its first ever class on Hinduism on Sat., Sept. 22, from 1-4 p.m. "We teach yoga philosophy, but we've never had a teacher come in and approach it from the point of view of the whole broad topic," said Jacqueline Snitkin, minister, teacher and counselor. Titled "Hinduism: Sanatan Dharma or Eternal Religion," the class will be taught by Malay Chakrabarti, a former instructor with the University of Washington's extension program. Roosevelt BBQ, Sept. 2

Calvary Temple Seattle, located at 6810 8th Ave NE in the Roosevelt neighborhood, will host its 4th annual community barbecue on Sunday, Sept. 2. This free event will take place downstairs in the church's gym and commence immediately following the 10 a.m. worship service. Ribs will be served, prepared by Eddie's Catering. Broadview festival, Sept. 21-23

Christ the King Parish, located at 405 N. 117th, will host a Festival of Arts & Crafts. The festival kicks off on Friday, Sept. 21, from 6-9 p.m., and continues on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event includes children's games, rides, food and entertainment.
