Students named Scholars

In early April, the Washington State Higher Education Coordinating Board and the Washington Association of Secondary School Principals named three accomplished high school students from each of the state's 49 legislative districts to be honored as Washington Scholars.

The following is a list of this year's Washington Scholars who live in North Seattle:

Jennifer Berlin of Blanchet High, Anders Peck of Blanchet High, Lang Reynolds of Nathan Hale High, Anne Chin of Holy Names Academy, Adam Percival of Garfield High and Diana Proctor of Garfield High.

The Washington Scholars receive state grants equivalent to up to 12 quarters or eight semesters of undergraduate tuition that can be used at any public or independent college or university in Washington state. The students will be honored at a recognition luncheon in Olympia on May 2.
