Phinney gallery to feature sculpture exhibit

The Phinney Center Gallery will feature the works of postmodern sculptor Ephraim Russell in a show that opens April 6 and runs through April 27. An opening night reception will be held on Friday, April 6, at 7 p.m.

Gallery open house on April 21:

The Phinney Neighborhood Arts Committee will hold an open house at the Phinney Center Gallery on Saturday, April 21, at 7 p.m. The event will provide the public with an opportunity to meet artists and learn more about the gallery. The open house will also feature music entertainment and refreshments. The Phinney Center Gallery is located at the Phinney Neighborhood Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N. Benefit for guide dogs for blind

The Lake City Elks Lodge, located at 14540 Bothell Way, will hold its second annual Guide Dogs for the Blind Benefit on Saturday, April 14, beginning at 6 p.m. The charity fund-raising event will include a prime rib and baked salmon buffet dinner and dancing to the big band sounds of "The Kings of Swing." Cost for the event is a $25 donation per person. For more information, call the Elks at 364-1800. Reservations are required.

Spring Fling concert at Ravenna-Eckstein

A Spring Fling Concert featuring two popular local groups, Lora and Sukutai Marimba Ensemble and Tsunami Taiko Japanese Style Percussion, will be held at Ravenna-Eckstein Community Center gym, 6535 Ravenna Ave. NE, on Friday, April 6, at 7:15 p.m. Admission is $2 per person. Tia! to perform at Wallingford Center, April 7

Popular children's performer Tia! will perform at the Boston Street "The Children's Everything Store" at Wallingford Center, corner of N 45th and Wallingford Ave. N, on Saturday, April 7, from 1:30-2 p.m. Tia! is a mother, teacher and singer-songwriter whose award-winning albums include "Quacker Tunes," "Dinostew Zoo" and "Tia's Fourth 'R' is RESPECT."
