In order to study our recent earthquake, the United States Geological Service is hosting a website where they are asking for your experiences in the recent quake. The USGS is plotting responses on a map to determine where and how violent the shaking occurred.
That and other websites are linked to the University of Washington's seismology lab website at www.geophys.washington.edu. Graduate student, Gerick Bergsma, said that they were surprised at the low readings on their seismometers which he says are placed strategically throughout the region, "We didn't see as much shaking in lowland fill areas as we expected." The UW lab will have more answers after more data is collected.
