The winner of our ³King of Northgate² contest held in December was won by Licton Springs resident, Barney Baker.

Readers were asked to place the library, community center, and a park somewhere in the Northgate business district which extends east to 15th NE and west to Meridian Ave N.

Not surprisingly, Baker chose to locate the public facilities on the south lot which is vacant and offers a tempting blank slate.

The judges liked his entry because it shows whimsey and imagination. We were also happy to learn that he had never before attended a Northgate planning workshop and had learned about it from the Maven.

Baker will receive a $50 gift from Nowogroski Rupp Insurance in Northgate for his efforts.
