Lake City Chamber auction is a success

Linda Skurdal, executive director of the Lake City Chamber of Commerce, reported that the Chamberıs annual spaghetti feed and auction, which was held Dec. 2, raised 25 percent more funds this year than last yearıs event and that the number of donations increased to around 200 items. The auction was held at the Lake City Community Center.

Skurdal said a contest between teams of Lake City Chamber board members to get the best donations helped make the annual auction more successful this year. She also gave high praise to Virgil Flaim, a Lionıs Club member who, she says, provided the wonderful spaghetti recipe which was served at the dinner. Flaim is also the volunteer manager who runs the Lake City Community Center.

Lionıs Club members provided the spaghetti dinner for the auction attendees and members of Boy Scout Troop 321 helped out with bussing tables during the dinner.

Among this yearıs auctionıs biggest money-raisers were two used cars, a weekend getaway at a Chelan cabin, and a three-day, four-night cruise for two. Skurdal also said the kidıs auction was very successful, with heavy bidding on at least two items.
