The fourth annual "A Saturday in Bitter Lake Park" will take place on Saturday, Aug. 12. The family event is sponsored by the Bitter Lake Advisory Council and will run from noon to 3 p.m.
Cars, music, food, games, and fun will be provided to create a community event bringing families and neighbors together. Barbecued hot dogs, chips, and soft drinks will be available for $3. Guests may also picnic on the grounds next to the lake.
Neighborhood programs including community advisory councils and clubs, the Broadview Historical Society, the Linden Avenue Task Force, Block Watch, and SPD Explorer Scouts will also be featured along with carnival type games and a juggler.
A special area of the park will be available for the display of street rods, hot rods, customs and classics. These cars will include the Early Ford V-8 Club, with autos from the 1930's through 1950's. A live music performance by the Seattle Symphonic Band will accompany the car show.
Bitter Lake Park is located one block west of Aurora Avenue N. at Linden Avenue N. and N. 130th Street.
