Miss Bud hydro on display at History House

The Miss Budweiser VI, champion of the 1968-1969 era, is currently on display under cover at History House in Fremont. Loaned by the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum in South Park, the gleaming red and white two-seat behemoth is available for in-cockpit photos as a fundraiser for the History House.

Miss Budweiser will be on display in the History House Courtyard throughout the month of July. A photographer will be on site Saturdays and Sundays who can place visitors in the cockpit and take a photo. Digital 4-inch-by-6-inch photos will be available for $5.

In addition to the current History House displays of neighborhood heritage and art, in July there will be a special exhibit mounted by the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum featuring photos, memorabilia from the Gold Cup days and the 1986 Budweiser Emerald Trophy.

"The Miss Bud VI was built in 1967 and in 1969 it won 10 championships," says Jim Neideigh, director of the History House. "It has been completely restored by the Hydroplane & Raceboat Museum."

On Tuesday, July 4, from 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., the public is invited to attend a Beer Garden at the History House courtyard where they can watch the fireworks display over Lake Union. The event will include live music and, of course, in honor of the Miss Bud, the beer on tap will be ... Budweiser.

The History House, located at 790 N. 34th St. (under the Aurora Bridge), is a neighborhood museum dedicated to telling the history of the various neighborhoods in Seattle. For more information, contact the History House at 206-675-8875.
