This summer, Seattle Public Utilities will perform yearly maintenance of Meadowbrook Pond, the 4.5-acre detention pond completed in June 1998. Construction work is scheduled to begin by early July and will be completed by Oct. 15. The work will include removing the large silt deposits, dredging the entry creek and fore bay, rebuilding the storm water entrance weir and installing a debris stream on the upstream side of the bridge. During the construction work, the south side of the pond will be off limits to the public. SPU is making arrangements to allow continued usage of the bridge over the Metro pipe through the center of the pond. For more information, call Pam Miller at 206-684-5179.
