The Seattle Public Library board of trustees has selected ARC Architects of Seattle to design the expansion of the Lake City Library. The board made its unanimous choice at its May 23 meeting. ARC was recommended to the board by a community architect selection advisory panel that reviewed proposals and conducted interviews with 15 firms that applied to design Lake City's $2.9 million expansion project. ARC has designed a number of community and senior centers throughout the region, including the Eckstein Community Center in North Seattle. Advisory panel members included Jeff Girvin, Andree Teschera, Anthony Aegerter, Jean Van Oss, and Hazel Evans.
