Crossing over the Fremont Bridge, you see a pyramid shaped structure rising out of the Adobe Plaza. The structure is decorated with thousands of multicolored flags. This display is part of a Fremont Public Association project highlighting their mission to end poverty. Five thousand Tibetan Prayer-type flags were distributed this spring to area organizations such as schools, churches, businesses, and civic organizations. The flags were blank and people were asked to write one action they would do to aid the fight against poverty. Starting in June, the flags will be collected and strung together. Coinciding with the Fremont Fair on June 17 and 18, the flags will be on display at the Adobe Plaza from June 12-18. The colorful display will be lighted by pin spotlights at night.
