Olympic View to hold auction, April 29

By KIRK UTTER

The Olympic View Elementary School PTA invites you to support their annual auction fund-raiser "O.V.-Opal." This year's auction will be held on April 29 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at North Seattle Community College. Olympic View Elementary School is located at 504 N.E. 95th in the Maple Leaf neighborhood.

There will be a buffet with an assortment of refreshments, desserts for sale, and musical entertainment. A silent auction will go from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. followed by a live auction starting at 8 p.m. You can be a part of all this for only $7 per person. Tickets will be sold at the door and by Olympic View students from March 27 through April 7.

This fund- raiser is the Olympic View PTA's main source of revenue for the year. The auction allows the PTA to provide support for many educational programs and to give needed items to the school. Every year the Olympic View PTA provides scholarships for 3rd and 5th grade camp, sponsors a craft fair, and a science day at the school. We give money for the music program, art program and many others.

The Olympic View PTA does a yearly, "Teachers wish list", in which we provide educational tools for each class room in the school. We have given $10,000 toward Space Jam, which is a program to build a multi use building at the school. This building will help alleviate overcrowding at the school and will also be used by the Maple Leaf community.

Perhaps you have a trade, a talent, or an unused or new item. If you or your business would like to support Olympic View PTA your donations are gladly accepted and greatly appreciated. Please contact either Jay Gahan at 523-4293 or Kirk Utter at 782-7156.

On behalf of the Olympic View Elementary School PTA, staff and children we wish to thank you for your support. Your efforts will help to build a strong school and strengthen the community.

Thank you for your support. Strong public schools are the basis for our future.
