A $25,000 Early Implementation Funds grant from the City of Seattle has been awarded to begin the design of a sculpture garden and walking paths at North Seattle Park. The sculpture garden will lie at the former Kelm House site located on N. Northgate Way between N. 105th and N. 107th. The park is also currently known as Disc Golf Park.
The park is highly visible, yet seldom noticed by speeding traffic in the area. Golfers and neighbors to the park could enjoy more access with improved foot paths and benefit from artistic amenities. The North Park Project Committee is headed by Edie Whitsett. The committee will be responsible for hiring a landscape architect/consultant to design a plan for the park.
Interested golfers, neighbors, gardeners, and artists are encouraged to help with the project. Input in choosing and working with the professional designers is needed.
For more information, contact Edie Whitsett at 522-1726 or 3bie@home.com.
