Glenn Harris will coordinate and staff the University District Neighborhood Service Center while the regular coordinator, Karen Ko, works on a temporary assignment with the Department of Human Services.

Harris has a background in journalism and five years experience in fundraising and organizational development in both Seattle and Portland. Harris has also served two years as board secretary for A Territory Resource. A Territory Resource is a public foundation that funds community-based organizations throughout the Northwest that work for social, economic, and environmental justice.

The Neighborhood Service Center assists citizens and neighborhood groups in the U-District, Roosevelt, Ravenna, and other areas as far north as Matthews Beach.

The coordinator provides information and help to those needing public and social services or those involved with neighborhood improvement projects. In addition, Neighborhood Service Centers provide staff support to local community councils, business associations, district councils, and other community organizations.
