Rotary scholarship applications available

Applications are available from the Rotary Club of Lake City for two types of 2001-2002 Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarships. They are the Academic Year Ambassadorial Scholarship and the Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarship.

The Academic Year Ambassadorial Scholarship is for one academic year of study abroad. It provides funding for round-trip transportation, tuition and fees, room, board, some educational supplies, and language training up to a maximum of $25,000.

The Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarship provides funding for six months of intensive language study and cultural immersion in another country. This includes transportation, tuition, and homestay expenses up to a maximum of $19,000.

During their studies abroad, scholars act as "ambassadors of goodwill" by making appearances at Rotary clubs, schools, and civic organizations. Applications must be submitted no later than May 19.
