Rotary seeks student ambassadors

In an effort to foster international understanding and goodwill, Rotary International is offering to pay up to $25,000 each to successful candidates in the Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship Program. Applications are now available for the 2001-2002 time frame, through the University Sunrise Rotary Club.

"It's an opportunity for local students to discover new things - about themselves and the world around them," says Phill Briscoe, president of the University Sunrise Rotary Club. During their studies abroad, ambassadorial scholars will make appearances before Rotary Clubs, schools, civic organizations and other forums representing their homelands and to further international understanding.

Interested applicants should contact Stephen Murphy at the University Sunrise Rotary Club at 525-5511. Completed forms must be submitted by April 30, 2000.
