Calvary Temple Seattle church in Roosevelt will host its popular annual event, "A Seattle Christmas Festival" on Dec. 10-12. All performances are open to the public.
The hour-and-a-half evening event, which begins at 6:30 p.m. each night, will feature holiday fun, live entertainment and celebration activities for the whole family, including big band swing, carols, comedy, classics, multimedia and much more. The nearly 150 members of the church's choirs, orchestra and cast began preparing in early September to share with the community a wonderful evening of holiday cheer. Performers include a 30-piece swing band, a 60-member high school/college choir, and a 70-member adult choir. Solo performers include Debby Domingo, Dode Peterson, brothers Ben, Drew and Tim Wicks and Monika Eggehorn.
The performances will directed by Allan Skoog, the church's minister of music and conductor for the Christmas Festival.
Admission to "A Seattle Christmas Festival" is free, but ticket reservations are required (except for the church's dress rehearsal performance, which is also open to the public, on Dec. 9). A freewill offering will be taken each night. Proceeds from the concerts will benefit the following local charity groups: the SIDS Foundation, the Seattle Children's Home and New Beginnings (a resource center for battered women).
To order tickets, contact Calvary Temple at (206) 525-7473 (during office hours). Calvary Temple Seattle is located at 6810 8th Ave. NE.
