Taproot Theatre Company will present the West Coast premiere of the bluegrass gospel musical comedy, "Sanders Family Christmas," running Nov. 18-Dec. 23. All performances will be held at Taproot's theatre, located at 204 N. 85th in Greenwood.

"Sanders Family Christmas," is a new musical comedy written by Connie Ray and conceived by Alan Bailey. It features the return of the quirky, beloved Sanders family first seen in Ray and Bailey's original musical, "Smoke on the Mountain." This new musical finds the Sanders family back at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in 1941. A heaping helping of hand clapping, toe-tapping bluegrass gospel music and more hilarious family misadventures are sure to be in store.

Taproot's production of "Sanders Family Christmas" is directed by TTC artistic director Scott Nolte. Cast members include Edd Key, Catherine Gaffney, Mark Lund, Theresa Holmes, Bob Marion, Candace Vance and Samuel Vance.

"Sanders Family Christmas" opens Friday, Nov. 26 and runs Wednesday through Saturday through Dec. 23. Low-cost preview performances will be held Thursday, Nov. 18 thorugh Wednesday, Nov. 24. A pay-what-you-can performance is offered Wednesday, Dec. 1.
