Sacred Oasis opens in Roosevelt

Sacred Oasis, a business that its owners describe as "a healing sanctuary for the soul," will open its doors at 1417 NE 65th (corner of NE 65th and 15th Ave. NE) in early October.

Owners Dana Pelligrini and Jann Y. Coons say Sacred Oasis is a "culmination of an evolving vision of an healing arts center devoted to strengthening each person's connection to the Divine." Services offered include tools to "help the body through massage therapy, the mind through hypnotherapy, and the spirit through Reiki energy work and classes, as well as a yoga studio, a resource library, and a small retail area," according to the owners. Pelligrini and Coons say they are looking for practitioners to join their team. For more information, call 517-1127.

Green Lake Chiropractic sports new look

Green Lake Chiropractic, located at 1480 North 80th, has undergone tremendous changes this past summer, according to owner Dr. Steven Polenz. "Upon taking over the lease next door, the renovations began," he reports. "Tearing down walls, building newones, new decor and a fresh coat of paint all add to the clean open atmosphere." Polenz has also welcomed Dr. Barry Gjerdrum to the practice. Gjerdrum practiced north of Seattle for the past three years.

NW Hospital adds new doctor

Northwest Hospital recently announced the addition of Faiyaaz M. Jhaveri, M.D., to the hospital staff as a urologist. Jharveri's practice will be located on the hospital campus at 1560 N. 115th St., Suite 209 in the Haller Lake neighborhood. He recently completed a clinical fellowship in urologic oncology and prostrate diseases at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Section of Urologic Oncology.

New restaurant opens in Fremont

The recipe is simple: combine the cuisine of three countries that make up the Himalayas; prepare it to entice the Northwest palate; and present it in a light-filled, contemporary setting. This is the concept behind one of North Seattle's newest restaurants, Khana Himalayan Lounge, in the Lake Union Center at North 34th and Fremont Ave. N. (703 N. 34th).

The restaurant is co-owned by Jill Levine and Tom Olsen. Douglas Rhodes serves as executive chef.
