School adds new playground

By KATE LAUGHLIN

By ESTHER WALLA What's red, yellow and blue all over? North Seattle Christian School's terrific new playground!

During the 1998-99 school year, the students and families of North Seattle Christian School raised over $17,000. The students themselves raised a good portion of the money for the playground. They collected aluminum cans, recycled newspaper and held a rummage sale and Christmas Bazaar. Sam's Club awarded a grant towards the project and the school's annual "Bid for Kids" auction in April raised enough money to complete the project.

During the month of June, the school's active parent volunteers worked every Saturday installing and building the new addition in our community. The playground has seven slides, a suspension bridge and all kinds of other neat features.

They would like the North Seattle Community to stop by and use the playground evenings or weekends. It's constructed for kids, ages 5 through 12. Come and experience the sense of community and meet your neighbors.

North Seattle Christian School is located at NE 125th and 8th Avenue NE.
