Tribute to pioneer women electricians

In 1974, Seattle City Light hired 10 women into a first-in-the-nation affirmative action training program. Help salute these female trailblazers' silver jubilee on Saturday, July 31, when Radical Women host an event titled: "Special 25th Anniversary Celebration: A Tribute to Seattle's Pioneer Women Electricians." Festivities include a Northwest Summer Buffet, toasts and roasts, live music by Rebel Voices, dancing and historical exhibits. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at New Freeway Hall, 5018 Rainier Ave. S. Door donation is $2 per person; buffet donation is $9.50, sliding scale and work exchanges available. For more info, rides or childcare, call 722-6057 or 722-2453. Wheelchair accessible. Everyone is welcome.
