University Village Merchants and King County Metro are sponsoring a Transportation Fair on March 5 and 6 to highlight the biking, walking and public transit options that are available for commuting and recreation.
The event, titled "Heels and Wheels to the Village," will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days, in the Northwest Quad area of the shopping center.
Participating groups will include: Emerald City Wanders Volkssport Club; Cascade Bicycle Club; City of Seattle Sand Point Park Operations; City of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods; Washington State Department of Transportation; and King County Metro Transit Division.
Visitors are encouraged to come to the Village by alternative transit. There will be prize drawings for visitors who bike, walk, car pool or take the bus to U-Village on the days of the fair. Village employees who have done the same will also be eligible for a special prize drawing.
