Northwest Hospital undergoing changes

Northwest Hospital President steps down
Northwest Hospital president James Hart recently relinquished his post to pursue a personal mission: a two-year mission with the Church of Latter Day Saints.

The hospital's current CEO, Bill Schneider, has been appointed to succeed Hart, who will retain his responsibilities as president of Quality Sciences and Research until June when he is scheduled to begin his mission. Hart may return as president of Quality Sciences and Research when his mission is over.

"The board is very grateful for the leadership Jim Hart has provided the hospital ove rthe past quarter century," said Northwest Hospital board chairman William Rex, in a statement issued by the hospital.

Childbirth Center plans remodel
Northwest Hospital is planning to $3 million remodel its Childbirth Center birth suites and adjoining public spaces. The project is slated to begin this summer. Completion of the project will occur in two phases, during early fall and winter of 1999. The design is being created jointly by The Retail Group of Seattle and Seeks Design Associates under the guidance of the hospital's in-house architecture team.

The Northwest Hospital Foundation is currently seeking donations to pay for the new Childbirth Center, with more than $1.6 million in pledges already committed.

Northwest Hospital is located at 1550 N. 115th, in the Haller Lake neighborhood.
